The Hyggelig Hytte

Another mini get-away, this time outside of Montpelier, Vermont. The Hyggelig Hytte is a cozy little nordic cabin in the woods of Vermont. Selene, the host, built the cabin in her backyard along with an outhouse and a sauna. Inside the Hyggelig Hytte there is a bed, kitchenette, and small table and chairs. There is no running water but there is electricity, and the outhouse is right behind the cabin.

On our way in, we got dinner at the Three Penny Taproom, a staple of Montpelier. The following day, we explored nearby Stowe and Waterbury for a day, and had lunch at Prohibition Pig. On our way out we hiked on a trail near-ish to the cabin that was filled with trees being tapped for maple syrup. We lucked out on some great weather during our trip, with sunshine and blue skies.

This AirBnb was such an eat place to be during the winter months, and I know it would be a great place to go to during the summer as well. There are a few fire pits by the cabin, and the surrounding area has great hiking and swimming holes. If you're interested in staying at the Hyggelig Hytte, you will need to book in advance. To snag a Friday-Sunday stay, I had to book two and a half months in advance- it's that popular!

Didn’t take many photos on this trip, but take a look at how cute the cabin and sauna are!
