shop
H+M
Austurbakki 2, 101 Reykjavík
I know I know…you’re thinking, H+M? YES, H+M. Why? Because these types of global clothing stores sell different product in different markets and you will find stuff in this European market that they don’t sell in the states. Whenever I have shopped in stores like this abroad, I always find their inventory to be so much better!

Fótógrafí
Skólavörðustígur 22, 101 Reykjavík
This photo shop on Skólavörðustígur (The Rainbow Street) is a must visit. You can get photo prints of all things Iceland, including an astronaut on Skólavörðustígur in front of the Hallgrímskirkja. Can you get more Icelandic than that? If I could, I’d buy every single print there.

Sólfar, The Sun Voyager
Sæbraut, 101 Reykjavík
Did you go to Reykjavík if you didn’t get a picture at the Sun Voyager? Located along the water on the Sculpture + Shore Walk, it’s a short walk from the city centre. If it’s a nice day, you’ll likely encounter other tourists admiring the work of art and soaking up the sun on the steps or stone wall.

Hallgrímskirkja
Hallgrímstorg 1 101, 101 Reykjavík
The Hallgrímskirkja is one of the most iconic landmarks in Reykjavík. It sits at the top of the Rainbow Street and towers over the city, providing a stunning view when you go up in the tower. The church does hold regular worship and events, so be sure to check out their hours before you go.

Hopp, Electric Scooters
This might seem like a silly little activity to you, and maybe it is, but downloading the Hopp app and scootering down by the water is one of my best memories in Reykjavík. Granted, it could be because I wasn’t able to go outside for 10 days while being isolated with covid (a story for another time). Download the app, scan the QR code on the scooter, and feel the breeze in your hair as you coast along the Sculpture + Shore Walk.

Whale Watching
Ægisgarður 5c (Old Harbour), 101 Reykjavík
If you’re in Reykjavík in April through September, whale watching is a fun activity that leaves from the Old Harbor. There are a few different companies to choose from, but Elding is the original whale watching tour company out of the city. Ontop of whales, there is also a chance you could see puffins and dolphins!

Harpa Concert Hall
Austurbakka 2, 101 Reykjavík
The Harper Concert Hall is a striking piece of architecture that is home to the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Icelandic Opera and Reykjavík Big Band. The outer walls are made up of thousands of glass honeycomb panels that reflect hues of blue, sea green, and purple. The building got its name from the public, where citizens could enter their proposed name.
